What a busy day in room 16.  We began working on a surprise for Mrs. Pelling as her final day at CHS is quickly approaching.  Ask your child if they remember some of the similies we came up with as a class to describe our principal.

Mrs. Pelling is as beautiful as a rainbow butterfly in the sunlight.

Mrs. Pelling is as elegant as a leaping gazelle through the African Savanah.

Mrs. Pelling is as nice as a cat that snuggles with you and lets you pet it.

Mrs. Pelling is as kind as a classroom full of children just like the ones in Room 16.

Mrs. Pelling is as hardworking as a worker bee soaring to find nectar.

Mrs. Pelling is as sweet as fluffy blueberry cotton candy.

Mrs. Pelling is wise like an owl flying through the twilight sky.

Mrs. Pelling is as patient as an eagle waiting for its prey to appear.

Mrs. Pelling is as humble as an athlete that just high fived all the other hard-working athletes.

Mrs. Pelling walks as quickly as a cheetah catching its prey in a jungle.

Mrs. Pelling is as funny as a dancing pig in a barnyard.

In math, we began working on multiplication!  The students quickly realized that multiplication was all about making groups, skip counting, and repeated addition.   They also realized that 4 x 5 is the same as 5 x4.

We are preparing for our remembrance day assembly, and putting a big focus on what Peace is and what it means to us.
